The Mornington Peninsula Shire is committed to a sustainable future for the peninsula. This influenced their decision to energy efficient LED lighting for the Somerville Recreation and Community Centre.

The Project

Jets Gymnastics conducts a range of classes including Mini Jets, Fun Gym, Rockets, Stars, Gym Star, Tumbling & Trampolining, and Girls Squad Gymnastics for Development and State Levels. Their old halogen lights did not spread the light evenly across the centre and the variances in dark and brighter patches would distract gymnasts during training and performances. The lights were also quite costly to run and required frequent maintenance.

The Solution

LEDified retrofitted the Jets’ with its state of the art LEDs and now the centre saves over $5000 a year on their lighting costs and no longer need to incur ongoing maintenance costs! Additionally, the LEDs made the centre a lot brighter with an evenly spread light so that gymnasts no longer get blinded during their performances and training by sudden light amongst dark patches.
